The planes of the sixth and later cleavages are difficult to precisely trace. The blastomeres (64-128) have different cleavage planes depending on their positions within the dome-shaped blastoderm and are arranged in 3 layers. The peripheral blastomeres (21-24) are flattened in shape. The cells (30-35 um in diameter) are arranged in 3-4 layers but are still easily dissociated from each other [31].
